This distortion post process shader has been created in Unreal Engine. The shader is interactive through exposed material parameters, which allow the developer to modify various properties.

Distortion parameters:

Post Process

  • Opacity: Controls the opacity.
  • Mask: Allows the user to enable or disable post process channels. The RGBA channels can be used.
  • Invert Colors: Inverts the post process colors.
  • Enable Distortion: Enables distortion textures.
  • Distortion Strength: Controls the distortion strength of texture 1 and texture 2.
  • Distortion Distance: Limits the distortion to a distance. This must be used in conjunction with the distortion parameters.

Post Process UV

  • Tiling & Offset: Controls the UV tiling and offset. RG = Tiling, BA = Offset. (Use a negative tiling value to flip the UVs.)
  • Rotation: Controls the rotation angle and anchor point position. R = Angle, G = Anchor point U axis, B = Anchor point V axis. (Use degrees for rotation angle)
  • Invert U: Inverts the post process U channel, flipping the view horizontally.
  • Invert V: Inverts the post process V channel, flipping the view vertically.
  • Enable Rotation Animation: Enables a rotation animation.
  • Rotation Animation Speed: Controls the rotation animation speed.

Texture 1 & Texture 2

  • Tiling & Offset: Controls the UV tiling and offset. RG = Tiling, BA = Offset. (Use a negative tiling value to flip the UVs.)
  • Rotation: Controls the rotation angle and anchor point position. R = Angle, G = Anchor point U axis, B = Anchor point V axis. (Use degrees for rotation angle)
  • Opacity: Controls the texture opacity.
  • Mask: Allows the user to enable or disable texture channels. The RGBA channels can be used.
  • Invert: Inverts the texture.
  • Enable Animation: Enables panning animation.
  • Animation Speed X: Controls the panning animation speed on the X axis.
  • Animation Speed Y: Controls the panning animation speed on the Y axis.
  • Enable Rotation Animation: Enables a rotation animation.
